It’s WAR, as two technology giants will be sweating it out in Court after Apple Inc. decided to scrap tracking features in its upcoming iOS14 release.

It is public knowledge that Facebook as well as other media advertising companies rely on targeted advertising to reach their ‘target’ audience in many ways that matter. Facebook is not taking this calmly as this is another box checked in the growing spate between the two companies.

Facebook is also one of the companies who have challenged the huge commission fees, Apple charges developers on its iOS store. They recently made a modification to that, but those terribly affected don’t seem to be able to reap the benefit of that either.

Read more about it here.

In the words of Facebook’s Vice President for Ads and Business Products, Dan Levy

“Apple is behaving anti-competitively by using its control of the App Store to benefit their bottom line at the expense of creators and small businesses. Full stop,” He actually said the full stop part! (lol)

In Apple’s defence, they claim that the new directive doesn’t require Facebook to change its marketing approach, but only wishes to “stand up” for its users in a statement. Read the statement in brief below:

“We believe that this is a simple matter of standing up for our users. Users should know when their data is being collected and shared across other apps and websites — and they should have the choice to allow that or not.”
