The European Union has decided to launch an antitrust investigation against Apple based on the legal claims Spotify had raised against Apple in times past.
Spotify had opined that the fees Apple levied on all apps on the Apple Store stifle innovation and ultimately reduce user experience.
Spotify also complained of Apple’s policy of charging as much as 30% for all subscriptions sold on its platform.
Other tech companies such as Deezer and BEUC also shared spotify’s comment.
