The National Association of the Tangale people of Gombe State has called on Mallam Danladi Maishanu to stop parading himself as the “Mai Tangale” in the interest of peace.

Daniel Mado, who spoke on behalf of the Association, claimed they had to address reporters in Jos due to the perceived media bias in the state and also disclosed that they had already filed a suit regarding the matter in court.

The Association claimed that the appointment of Mallam Danladi Maishanu as the Mai Tangale is a flagrant violation of the newly enacted chieftaincy law. They maintained that the appointment of Maishanu as the Mai Tangale is against the wishes of the people.

While calling on Governor Inuwa Yahaya to lift the curfew imposed on them since the 19th February 2021, the people expressed their determination to protect the values of the Tangale nation against the interference of the state government.
