Taraji P Henson to provide Mental Health Succour for Black Community

American actress Taraji P. Henson has started an important conversation within the black community, the effects of COVID-19 on mental health.

The star recently opened up about the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and on the African-American community in a discussion she had with CNN’s Anderson Cooper and Sanjay Gupta.

She spoke about her mental health program which is in partnership with her foundation Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation. The program would address the mental health of black Americans and people of color during the COVID-19 pandemic and provide help to them.

She also mentioned the impact that the death of George Floyd has had on the mental health of African Americans stating that racism in the US is like trying to stop a bleeding wound that just keeps bleeding.

She added that she hoped that her program would help eradicate the stigma around, mental health in the black community.
