The Director-General National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, has stressed the need for every corps member to take the Covid-19 vaccine.
This is in line with the Federal Government’s plans to make a presentation of evidence of Covid-19 vaccination by civil servants, a pre-requisite for gaining entry to public offices from December 1, 2021.
Shauibu who made this statement during the swearing-in ceremony of the Batch C Stream 1 corps members in Keffi, Nasarawa State, also said the rule applies to corps members in places of their primary assignments.
The Director-General who was represented by the Nasarawa State Coordinator, Abdullahi Jikamshi, expressed gratitude to the Presidential Steering Committee on Covid-19 for their support and guidance in facilitating the safe and efficient conduct of orientation courses within the context of the new normal.
Shuaibu, therefore, encouraged corps members to demonstrate a high level of discipline and enthusiasm throughout their one-year compulsory orientation course.
