The Northern Governors’ Forum, NGF, has condemned the call by southern governors that power should shift to the south in 2023.
Rising from an emergency meeting in Kaduna, the forum said rather than clamour for power shift, democracy should be allowed to take its cause.

The forum said democracy is a game of numbers and as such, the southern governors must respect that.
The NGF also said that it will critically look into the issue of the Value-Added Tax, VAT, and develop a strategy that will ensure the interest of the region is protected.
On his part, the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, called on the northern governors to employ strategies to tackle banditry.
The NGF meeting is coming at a time when the north is contending with issues of banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality.
