Workers and business owners living in the border villages and towns along the Nyanya/ Keffi expressway have been stuck in heavy traffic gridlock.

The gridlock which started from Kugbo Check has extended to the Orange Market bridge in Mararaba.

Though no one could give the exact reason for the traffic jam, some who spoke to reporters off camera blamed the development on the check point mounted by security agencies along the road to prevent suspected criminals from entering the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Few days ago, security agencies raised alarm over security threat on the nation’s capital warning the general public against suspected planned attack on Abuja during October 1 Independent Day celebration.

On Monday, members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, popularly known as Shiites were seen moving from Mararaba towards the Abuja city center.

Meanwhile, some security agents have been deployed to help in making the road clear for motorists and other road users.
