Newly posted Commissioner of Police to Bayelsa State, Ben Okolo Nnebolisa, says there would be no room for unprofessional conduct by personnel under his charge, even as those found wanting would be dealt with.

Commissioner of Police, who stated this in a chat with reporters shortly after assuming office at the Command Headquarters in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, also disclosed that community-based policing, in line with the Inspector-General of Police’s mandate, would be the anchor point of his operations.

Okolo replaced formerly helmsman, CP Echeng Eworo Echeng, who has since been moved to Anambra State.

Addressing some top officers inside his office, Okolo said a police-community partnership would form the arrowhead of his campaign to tackle crime in the state.

The Police Commissioner warned against unethical practices amongst officers, pointing out that monitoring teams have been dispatched to fish out erring operatives.

Before his latest posting, Okolo has held several positions including Deputy Commissioner of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, and Head of IGP’s Monitoring Unit.

He has also attended several courses within and outside the country.
