Microsoft is finally letting go of Internet Explorer after holding on for so many decades in hopes of a reawakening but not any longer. Microsoft has announced that it is ending support for Internet Explorer 11 by June 15, 2022.
It hasn’t been so sudden as many believe, Microsoft has gradually been weaning its other products off Internent Explorer such as Microsoft Team and the Office Suite.
It is indeed a sad time for many folks as Internet Explorer was the staple browser and was the most widely used browser for many years. It has now been overtaken by Google’s chrome with 69% market share.
Microsoft in the closing statement revealed that part of the reason for shutdown is that Explorer is too slow to cope with today’s web tasks and also less secure.
