Kill the Bill protests in UK

Over 24 cities across England and Wales have their residents out in protest against a new bill that is poised to give the Police more power or encourage heavy-handedness during demonstrations.

The bill was proposed in response to the recent waves of protests that have turned out to be violent but many have taken to the street to call for the expunging of the bill. The bill is seen by its opponents as a way to further stifle the human rights of individuals as protests are generally fundamental human rights.

Yesterday, Traffic was brought to a standstill in Bristol as protesters blocked the movement of vehicles.

Also going from the recent demonstrations across the globe, protests are usually peaceful until some incitement by law enforcement, after which it takes a downward spiral.

The protest tagged ‘Kill The Bill’ was held concurrently across many cities and former Labour Party Leader, Jeremy Corbyn was seen championing its cause in London.

A Police Commander, Ade Adelekan described the protest as a challenging day for officers.
