A lava fountain is observed from a helicopter flight over the Fissure 22 in Kilauea Volcano's Lower East Rift Zone during ongoing eruptions of the Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii, U.S.

The Kilauea eruption seems to be gaining momentum as last night, there was a violent eruption that took place rising up levels as high as 50m high. The resultant tremors have been reported to measure between 4.9 to 50.0 magnitude.

Series of explosions have been occurring, leading an increasing number of residents now living in Red Cross Shelters or finding solace in their vehicles.

As at last night, the Kilauea eruptions have been ongoing for the past 19 days, opening 22 fissures, spewing out hot lava, destroying buildings and posing health-related challenges in its wake.

Current forecasts indicate that the eruptions could persist for some time to come.
