Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says the claim that his administration wasted $16 Billion on power between 1999-2007 by President Muhammadu Buhari is untrue. Obasanjo stated that he is ever ready to give an account of his role in the controversial power project if the Buhari administration was actually interested in making progress on the matter.
The Former President, who issued a rebuttal on Buhari’s accusation through his spokesperson, Kehinde Akinyemi, noted that the false allegation is a conscious effort aimed at demarketing him.
Obasanjo who described the President as playing politics with statistics remarked that such statement only means that the president has joined beer parlour gossips and is incompetent to govern the country.
