Paul Rusesabagina, celebrated globally for saving thousands of lives during the 1994 genocide in Rwanda has in a recent ruling been found culpable of terrorism.

Rusesabagina was decorated by many note-worthy organizations and even wrote a bestseller on the events that happened during the genocide but in a tragic twist of events was contradicted by survivors of the same event.

He was alleged to have formed an illegal armed group and a member of a terrorist group. The ruling claims he was partly responsible for the 2018 and 2019 attacks in Rwanda.

Out of fear of oppression from the current administration, Rusesabagina lived most of his life outside the shores of Rwanda but in August last year, he was detained, with little access to his lawyers, and he also mentioned that his family was abducted in Dubai.
