ECOWAS holds Workshop on AfCFTA Digital Trade

The ECOWAS Commission in partnership with the GIZ African Union Support Programme to the AfCFTA organized a workshop on the new AfCFTA E-Commerce Agenda.

The program was organized to provide e-commerce insights on the current ongoings and negotiations surrounding e-commerce trade in multiple areas. The event was attended by experts on Ecommerce from member s states of the AfCFTA and representatives from GIZ.

The AfCFTA was established to boost Africa’s trading position in the global market by strengthening Africa’s common voice and policy space in global trade negotiations. There are a total of 54 member states out of 55.

Participants were also urged to seize the opportunity to understand the current e-commerce climate which will inform future negotiations.
