The National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development, NIPRD has stated that it is currently researching a herbal remedy to manage and treat COVID 19.
The chief executive officer of the Institute, Obi Adigwe, made the remark during a working visit by the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on Covid 19 to acquaint themselves with the activities of the institute.
Adigwe added that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has confirmed the safety and efficacy of the drug and what is left is clinical trials to ascertain its effectiveness.
