Gunmen kill 1 student, abduct 2 poly lecturers in Zaria

Two academic staff, Habila Nasai and Adamu Shika, as well as three unidentified students of Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic in Zaria, Kaduna State have been abducted by kidnappers in the early hour of Thursday.

According to a statement by the Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic Chapter, two students of the school were also shot by the kidnappers.

However, one of them an HND II statistics student died this morning from injury sustained from the gun shot while the other is receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical centre.

The statement further said that the wife and two children of one of the academic staff who were also abducted have been released by the abductors.

Also confirming the incident, a lecturer from the school, Habila Sarki, told reporters that the whereabouts of the abducted lecturers and the students are not known.
