Gov. Diri Presents Bill Of ₦310.71bn To Bayelsa State House Of Assembly

The Bayelsa State government is proposing an expenditure of 310.71 billion Naira for the 2022 fiscal year.

Governor Douye Diri while presenting the budget estimates to the State House of Assembly this Wednesday in Yenagoa, said the policy thrust of next year’s budget is to sustain the development and infrastructural drive of his administration for the overall well-being of the people.

Governor Diri in presenting the Bayelsa State 2022 Appropriation Bill which is christened “Budget of sustainable growth” first gave an appraisal of the achievements of the budget that funded the present year.

The 2022 estimate of 310.717 billion Naira is slightly lower than the 2021 Budget of 329 billion Naira, with a difference of 19 billion Naira.

A breakdown showed that capital expenditure is allocated 110.7 billion Naira with works and infrastructure gulping the highest of 51 billion Naira, followed by agriculture, 12 billion Naira, education 4 billion Naira, amongst others.

Prediction on the Bayelsa Budget estimate is on crude oil daily production of 1.88 million per barrel, with a benchmark of 57 U.S. dollars per barrel, having an exchange rate of 410.15 Naira to a dollar.
