Foreign Ministers from China and Iran yesterday signed a 25-year long cooperation pact that was aired live on state television. The agreement is expected to seal all Sino-Iranian relations for the years to come.
The Chinese foreign minster, Wang Yi had met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani prior to the televised collaboration ceremony. Iran has welcomed the agreement describing it as a successful diplomacy. Wang Yi also welcomed the pact and was quoted by Iraninan News agencies as saying
“Iran decides independently on its relations with other countries and is not like some countries that change their position with one phone call.”

China and Iran have had long standing relations as trade partners as well as allies. The new pact is expected to cover energy and infrastructure investments from China.
