Joe Biden invites Buhari to climate change summit

The United States President, Joe Biden has invited Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari alongside 3 other African Presidents to the virtual Leaders Summit scheduled to hold on April 22 – 23.

The White House disclosed in a statement that this year’s summit will underscore the urgency and economic benefits of a stronger climate action.

The summit will host 40 world leaders and will be streamed live. Few business leaders will also be a part of the summit. Some of those countries include Russia, China, Bhutan, Denmark, France, Gabon, Israel, Kenya, Canada, South Africa and a host of others.

This is in line with one of Biden’s campaign policies to fight climate change. He has also since rejoined the United States back on the Paris Agreement.
