Former US President, Barack Obama has joined NBA Africa as a strategic partner. The news was revealed by the National Basketball Association. The former president will contribute towards advancing the body’s social responsibility efforts across the continent and support economic inclusion as well as gender equality.

As a result of the partnership, the former President will be entitled to some equity, which he claims will go into funding the Obama Foundation youths and leadership program across the continent.

HERE’S WHAT BARACK AND MICHELLE OBAMA ARE UP TO THESE DAYS!

In a statement, the NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver welcomed the development and projected for bigger wins to come:

“We are honored that President Obama has become a strategic partner in NBA Africa and will support our wide-ranging efforts to grow the game of basketball on the continent.

In addition to his well-documented love for basketball, President Obama has a firm belief in Africa’s potential and the enormous growth opportunities that exist through sports. NBA Africa will benefit tremendously from his engagement.”

NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver.

This is another of the Former President’s post-presidential engagements, all of which are equally laudable.
