Banditry: JTF Rescues 2 Victims in Niger State

The Joint Security Task Force in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State has rescued two victims of bandits.

The rescue operation was carried out by members of the Joint Security Task Force comprising security agencies and local vigilantes.

The two victims, both females were abducted by gunmen from the Yanti community in the Dasun ward of the local government.

According to a statement by a community leader, Muhammad Shabafu, the victims were handed over unhurt to the Council Chairman of Lavun Local Government Council, Ibrahim Limanko, unhurt.

Residents of the Local Government Area commended the Chairman for supporting the security agencies in the area for their efforts to curtail the activities of criminal elements in the area.

The Chairman of Lavun Local Government Council, Ibrahim Limanko, praised the security agencies for rescuing the victims from the bandits.

Limanko assured the security agencies of continued support, as part of efforts to secure the local government area.

The Chairman urged the people of the Local Government to report suspected movements in their areas to security agencies for necessary action.
