Former and two-time Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has described Tuesday’s decision of AMCON takeover of his property in Ilorin, Lagos, and Abuja as unnecessary due to ongoing talks to resolve all transactions with the two defunct banks in question, Intercontinental Bank and Finbank.

Ahmed disclosed this through a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Wahab Oba, to journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Oba while giving clarifications on the development said the dispute was not unconnected with a margin loan the former Governor secured from the two banks in 2009 for the purchase of shares which was then lumped with unrelated loans obtained by others.

The former Chief Press Secretary, however, declined further comments on the matter when approached for interview by reporters .

Meanwhile, Ahmed, according to latest report is already working out modalities to resolve the matter with the AMCON.
