In the company of officials of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, the Minister made a trip to the spot allegedly destroyed by bandits.

He said the incident has further necessitated the need for timely deployment of a security surveillance system on the railways.

The Minister also expressed satisfaction that such repair works could be done by indigenous engineers.

Following the Wednesday night attack, the NRC temporarily suspended operations on the corridor in a move it said was aimed at safeguarding the lives of passengers.
