Operations on the Abuja-Kaduna railway has been suspended, following an attack on the facility on Wednesday night.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation in a statement said it has taken the step to safeguard the lives of passengers on that corridor.

The corporation further said that it is yet to give more details on the cause of the action, as investigations have begun to uncover what happened.

A former lawmaker, Shehu Sani, who also confirmed the attack, narrated his experience on the tracks, as an Abuja bound passenger after the incident, though one of his social media pages, saying that it happened between Dutse and the Rijana stations.

Moreso, a video and pictures being circulated on various social media platforms indicated that portions of the rail line had been blown off with explosives while damaging the windshield of the drivers of the locomotive.
