A copper-made bell weighing 500kg has suddenly gone missing from its erstwhile position in a Central Kenya Church and its members are asking for its safe return.
The bell which was stolen from the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Kiambu may have been an indirect effect of the ban on religious gatherings due to the pandemic as worshipers believe the heist could not have been possible otherwise.
In addition, 10 bottles of wine were missing from the altar in which was a precursor to the disappearance of the church bell. Members have called on security operatives to help bring justice and also protect religious citadels as the curfew prevents residents from doing as much.
