World Hepatitis Day: Nasarawa Targets 124,000 Patients For Treatment – Commissioner

The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Health Pharmacist Ahmed Yahaya, has said that the state government is set to treat about 124,000 persons of hepatitis disease in the state within five years.

Yahaya who disclosed this at a press briefing to commomerate the 2022 World Hepatitis Day in Lafia, the state capital, said that out of 18,429 persons who have tested positive for disease in the state, 2,451 have been found viraemic and all have been put on treatment.

According to the commissioner, “currently, a total of 181,946 have been screened and 18,429 persons have tested positive for the disease.
