Long lines of motorists queuing up for fuel and hiked transportation costs are the norm as many workers have reportedly spent several days that stretch for several miles since a fuel scarcity took Sudan by storm for the past one week abandoning their daily work commitments.

This comes in the wake of the scarcity of bread piling more pressure on the new government post the ousting of Oman al-Bashir last year April. He is expected to face the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands

Sudan is now running a three-year power-sharing deal structure between the military and civilian reign and also concurrently battling long-lasting economic sanctions and mismanagement of development and investment funds.

Officials have announced that a rationing system will be put in place at four gallons per vehicle for two days. The cause of the shortage was identified as due to a broken refinery pipeline currently in for repairs.
