#WeAreTired takes centrestage as Nigerians protest the gruesome killings of Tina and Uwa

Several Nigerians have poured out their outrage over the murder of Tina and Uwa via social media. Tina Ezekwe was a 16-year-old young girl gunned down by a trigger happy police officer in Iyana-oworo.

Meanwhile, Uwa Omozuwa was sexually violated and murdered within church premises where she went to read. These events have sparked outrage from Nigerians who took to social media to protest the senseless killing and rape against women that prevails in our society.

Their tragic deaths sparked outrage and led to the birth of Different hashtags that started to trend: #JusticeforUwa, #JusticeforTina, and #WeAreTired.

Some of the Nigerian celebrities who spoke out about this and called for justice include Don Jazzy, Tacha, Tiwa Savage, Genevieve Nnaji, Djinee to mention a few.

Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of the church that Uwa was murdered in has reacted to the news and the church has put forward a statement condemning the act as further investigations continue.

Police brutality and violence against women has continued to gain momentum over the years and now all indications point towards frustration against the vicious acts.
