U.S Special Envoy to Haiti, Daniel Foote quits over Mass Deportations

The U.S special envoy to Haiti, Daniel Foote has resigned from his duties in protest over the mass deportation of Haitians back to the crisis-engulfed nation by the Biden Administration.

The US authorized the deportation of over 1400 from camp, an additional 3,206 were recently taken into custody. Footer in a letter disassociated from the directives describing it as inhumane and counterproductive.

“I will not be associated with the United States’ inhumane, counterproductive decision to deport thousands of Haitian refugees and illegal immigrants,” Foote said in a letter addressed to Secretary of State Antony Blinken that circulated publicly on Thursday.

Daniel Foote disclosed that the situation in Haiti was so deplorable even U.S Officials were confined to secure compounds and the state does not have the capability to support the influx of migrants.
