It was a sight to behold as French President, Emmanuel Macron got smacked across the face by an unknown man who has now been apprehended while the president was visiting the Tain-Hermitage school in southeast France.
The man who held on to the president and shouted “Down with Macronia” right before hitting him across the face before he was restrained by the security detail. The French Prime Minister, Jean Castex condemned the act and called it undemocratic and aggressive.
Although two suspects have been arraigned, it remains unclear why the second person was arrested. The President is yet to react to the uneventful.
