Turkey’s Erdogan sworn in for new Presidential term

President of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan, has taken the new oath of office for a new five- year presidential term on Monday.

The oath ceremony which held at the capital, Ankara concludes the constitutional changes approved in a referendum last year transiting from a parliamentary system to an executive presidency.

 

This gives the president power to issue executive orders, dissolve parliaments and impose a state of emergency.

Erdogan, who has ruled for more than 15 years as prime minister and the President will announce his new cabinet.
