Travis Scott, a popular American rapper, has been chastised for performing for 40 minutes straight while concertgoers perished tragically during his Astroworld Festival on Friday night, Nov. 5.
During Travis’ event at NRG Park in Houston, Texas, a crowd surge and stampede killed eight people and injured hundreds more.
Scott was seen in videos watching paramedics do CPR on motionless young individuals.
While children as young as 14 were carried into ambulances, he proceeded to perform for another 40 minutes.
As victims lay around them, he is alleged to have exhorted concertgoers to make “the ground shake.” Travis Scott maintains he had no idea what was going on, but video footage suggests he was aware that something was wrong.
“Stop the performance!” yelled the crowd, but a video shows Travis Scott responding, “Who asked me to stop?”
Travis has a history of violence and injuries during his shows, which is concerning.
He was arrested in 2015 in Chicago and again in 2017 in Arkansas for encouraging fans to attack the stage and igniting a mosh pit brawl that injured a security guard and concertgoers.
