The law firm revealed on Sunday that concert survivors had sued both American rapper Travis Scott and Canadian rapper Drake for “inciting mayhem” after eight people were murdered and dozens injured in a stampede during a Texas show.
According to the Daily Mail, one of the first lawsuits in the Travis Scott Astroworld Festival accident was filed by the Texas law firm Thomas J. Henry Law on Sunday.
The plaintiff is Kristian Paredes, a 23-year-old member of the audience. On November 5th, he was one of the “critically wounded” at the concert.
A mob of almost 50,000 people rushed the stage during Scott’s performance at NRG Park in Houston, causing havoc.
Officials also confirmed that a 14-year-old boy was among the victims, and narcotics bureau agents are investigating accusations that a security guard was injected with drugs during the mayhem.
Scott, Live Nation, and event promoter Score are named as defendants in a complaint filed on behalf of Manuel Souza. According to the lawsuit, Souza “suffered serious physical damage when the unruly audience at the concert pushed him to the ground and crushed him.”
Scott and Drake have not yet responded to the case.
