Heavy security around the premises of the Federal High Court, as vehicles suspected to convey the self-acclaimed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, arrived in court for his trial.

The trial was adjourned till today for hearing, following the refusal of the Federal Government to produce Kanu in court on July 28, 2021.

The Federal Government deployed heavy security to forestall any breakdown of law and order.

All entrances leading to the court premises were barricaded by a combination of the Department of States Security, DSS operatives and men of the Nigerian Police.

At exactly 8:08 am, a heavily fortified security convoy arrived and zoomed into the court premises, which many believed was the arrival of Kanu.

As of the time of filing this report, journalists and lawyers have not been allowed to enter the court premises.

Meanwhile, the DSS has again deprived the media of gaining access into the Federal High Court.

The court officials are not left out as they are made to walk a little distance before they gain access into their offices, due to the heavy security blockade around the court premises.

The Federal Government filed an amended 7-count charge against the detained leader of IPOB, Kanu.

The amended charge was filed by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, bordering on treasonable felony and Kanu’s alleged involvement in acts of terrorism.
