COVID-19: Tanzanian President, Magufuli
Tanzanian President, John Magufuli

John Magufuli, Tanzanian President whose whereabouts have been under speculation for the past two weeks has been reported dead. Rumours went around on the health condition of the President which was vehemently denied by top officials.

The Prime Minister even assured that all was well, but the President was busy. Alas, the cock crowed on the 17th of March, and his sad passing was announced.

Magufuli will become the first president to pass away to the dreaded COVID-19. A disease he refused to acknowledge for most of its existence. He was well known for disputing the validity of the disease and urged Tanzanians to instead take steam baths and pray away the prognosis.

Magufuli also rejected the vaccines and said the nation won’t need any, which makes it extremely painful that he died to complications arising from the same.

Dr. Samia Suluhu will step in as Acting President of the East African nation. A two-week national mourning has been declared to honour the President.

We pray God grants the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
