The Super Eagles got to the World Cup in a fashionable way, and the team was the most admired in terms of their team jersey. Going into the first game against Croatia, the Eagles were hopeful for a positive result but let it slide as they lost 2 goals to nil to the Croats.
When it looked like all hope was lost, the Super Eagles of Nigeria went up against Iceland and a brace from Ahmed Musa in the second half of the encounter handed the team a lifeline in Russia 2018.
With the win, Nigeria moves from bottom of the Group D table to the second spot with 3points ahead of Argentina (1pt) and Iceland (1pt). The Super Eagles last game and hope of qualification lies on the game against Argentina, While Iceland will hope to get a victory over the Croatians who are already through to the round of 16.
