Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association in the South East has called off its two-week industrial action.

The strike was declared following the alleged demolition of a petrol station belonging to one of its members.

The resolution came after an extensive deliberation between the Imo State government, officials of the Association, and other stakeholders.

Governor Hope Uzodimma had earlier in a meeting with the oil marketers commended the officials for accepting dialogue as a solution in resolving the fuel crisis.

Briefing reporters in Owerri, Imo State capital, the National Public Relations Officer of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Chinedu Ukadike, said the suspension of the strike became necessary following a fruitful meeting between the union and the state government.

This development will go a long way to easing hardship faced by residents around Imo and other South-Eastern states.
