SGF defends ₦12bn budget for 2022

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, has appealed to lawmakers to appropriate sufficient funds to capture activities of the Federal Government that comes intermittently in the course of the year not appropriately budgeted for.

The SGF lamented that the Independence Day celebration marked October 1, 2021, had a budget estimate of 104 million Naira appropriated, which eventually cost over 500 million Naira.

Mustapha made the appeal when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-governmental Affairs to defend a budget proposal of 12 billion Naira for the 2022 fiscal year for the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, OSGF.

The SGF, while presenting the proposed budget Expenditure, said N4,485,009,090 is earmarked for personnel cost, 4, N420,628,228 overhead cost, and N3,191669, 376 capital cost.

Mustapha represented by the Permanent Secretary, OSGF, General Services Office, Maurice Mbaeri, said his office intends to develop the land opposite the OSGF with approvals from the FCT Administration to have unified accommodations for all presidential aides for easy coordination and confidentiality.

The lawmakers commended the SGF and his team for the level of implementation of its 2021 budget.
