Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, the Libyan Parliament’s First Parliament Speaker, talked with Emad Al-Din Al-Sayeh, the Leader of the High National Electoral Commission, in Tobruk. Al-Nuwairi gave an update on HNEC’s progress and preparations for the presidential and legislative elections during the meeting.

They also looked at the technological and logistical issues that the commission faced. Al-Nuwairi highlighted the Parliament’s willingness to hold presidential and legislative elections on schedule, according to Abdullah Blaiheg, the Parliament’s official spokesman. He confirmed that Parliament will remain in session indefinitely until the election process was completed.

He went on to say that it was striving to support HNEC’s efforts and to overcome any obstacles that would obstruct the elections. The French, German, Italian, UK, and American embassies all congratulated Libya for holding the Libya Stabilization Conference on October 21.

The five countries stated in a statement that the meeting allowed prominent officials from around the world to gather in Tripoli to demonstrate their support for Libya’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and national unity. They also joined Libyan authorities in condemning foreign meddling in Libyan affairs, including mercenaries, foreign combatants, and foreign forces’ divisive and destructive influence.

Furthermore, the five embassies emphasized the need for all sides to adhere to international law. The Joint Military Commission (JMC) was complimented for its dedication and loyalty after submitting its entire Action Plan for the transfer of expatriates, foreign fighters, and foreign forces from Libyan soil to the October 21 Stabilization Conference.

They also pledged to work with Libya on major shared concerns including terrorism, migration, climate change, and environmental protection. Improved Libyan stability will also lead to increased investment, which will result in more jobs and better living conditions for all Libyans,
