Security agencies ban movement of motorcycles with clutches in 13 LGAs, part of Gusau

The security agencies in Zamfara State have placed a ban on motorcycles with clutches in the 13 local government areas of the state, including Damba and Mada communities in Gusau Local Council, as part of more security measures to eradicate the criminals’ activities in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba Elkana, rolled out the additional security measures while addressing reporters over some unscrupulous elements, who are using their vehicles to supply petrol and food items to the bandits.

He revealed that vehicle owners who are engaging in such acts, particularly, are Golf cars and canters, which he warned to stop, or else face the full wrath of the law.

CP Elkana appealed to the residents of Zamfara State to bear with the security agencies on the security measures being put in place, as it is for the best interest of all and sundry.

He reminded the residents that the restriction of motorcycle operation and vehicles in the 13 local government areas of the state from 6 AM to 6 PM, while in Gusau, the state capital, from 6 AM to 8 PM is still in force.

In another development, the Taskforce for the enforcement of the new security measures in Zamfara State, led by its Chairman, Abubakar Dauran, has handed over to the police, some bandits, and their informants, arrested recently for safekeeping.

The Police Commissioner told reporters that the security agencies would brief them on the successes recorded in due time.
