Roger Federer, former top world number one male tennis champion withdrew yesterday from the French Open after a long three round match which he won.
According to the veteran, his team discussed and collectively decided to withdraw from the French Open to create room to prepare for the WImbledon.
39-year-old Federer who suffered a knee injury disclosed plans to listen to his body and to decide if it is worth the risk to keep playing or not. Federer like Serena is looking to secure a record Grand Slam title at Wimbledon which begins on the 28th of June.

The French Open is sorry to see Roger Federer withdraw from the tournament but he put up a great fight last night.
“We were all delighted to see him back in Paris, where he played three top-level matches. We wish him all the best for the rest of the season.
