Ramaphosa confirms appearance at Zondo Commission

South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa has confirmed that he would appear before the Zondo commission of inquiry next month.

According to the Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, four days has been alloted for the president to give his testimony. He is expected to testify on behalf of his political party on the 22nd and 23rd of April, and further testify as the nation’s president on the 28th and 29th about a week later.

Ramaphosa served as the deputy president during Jacob Zuma’s tenure as president. Jacob Zuma is currently undergoing a trial over a large scale corruption which occurred during his run as president, involving the Gupta brothers amongst others.

Jacob Zuma has claimed to be innocent of all the allegations he has been charged with.
