Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the sum of 6.25 billion Naira for ranch development purposes in the state.
Masari said this during the commissioning of the Zobe Regional Water Project and Tsaskiya Road in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.
He said the move is to bring to an end the incessant banditry as well as farmers/herders clash.
According to the Governor, the donation was made to speed up developmental activities in the state.
Masari added that out of the money, 5 billion Naira has already been deposited in the account of the state government, stressing that within few weeks, advertisements calling for interested companies and consultants that will wish to participate shall be put up.
The Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumin Usman, who spoke on behalf of his Daura counterpart, Farouk Umar, thanked President Buhari for the gesture, saying that it will go a long way to bringing about peace and development to the state.
He also urged Nigerians to continue to pray for leaders, rather than resort to insulting them, saying when the head is bad, other parts of the body will be affected.
