In a bid to prevent the looming indefinite strike by the organised labour, Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong, has expressed optimism following a crucial meeting with Vice President, Kasshim Shettima.

Lalong during an interview with State House Correspondents, shortly after a meeting at the Presidential Villa Abuja, reiterated the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to the welfare and wellbeing of the nation’s workers.

On the planned indefinite strike, Lalong said the federal government is deliberating very well with the NLC.

It will be recalled that the federal government and the NLC agreed to continue talks over post-subsidy removal palliatives for workers before the 21-day ultimatum issued by the NLC expires.
