The 2023 Olojo Festival Chess ended with funfair and excitement as International Master Femi Balogun won the Olojo Festival Chess for the second consecutive year, the two-day tournament was aimed to bring the game of chess to the people of Osun state and promote tourism and culture along aside the Olojo Festival, which is one of the oldest festivals in Yoruba land.
The Vice-President, of Nigeria Chess Federation, Prince Adeyinka Adewole through the Osun State Chess Association, Awope Adebisi, brought the fifth edition of the Olojo Festival Chess tournament to a more significant and advanced collaboration between the Olojo festival and the game of chess
After the tournament, stakeholders spoke on the importance of chess and how it promotes tourism and culture.
