The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Vice-Presidential candidate in the 2019 general election, Peter Obi, has advised those in authority at all levels, to pay more attention to health care delivery.

The advice came when he paid a visit to Bishop Shanahan Hospital in Nsukka, Enugu State, southeast Nigeria, where he made financial donations in support of the ongoing School of Nursing project.

Handing over a cheque of 100 million Naira in the presence of the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, Godfrey Onah, and other hospital management, Obi encouraged them to remain committed to their services to humanity.

The former Governor of Anambra State told his audience that investing in the most critical areas like human development will benefit the hospital and society at large.

Obi commended the government of Enugu State, holding it high on the human capital development index.

He called on all to pray for Nigeria, especially for politicians to use the money meant for developments, and work for the good of Nigerians.

The Bishop of Nsukka Diocese extolled the philanthropic nature of Obi especially in the area of education and health, urging him not to lack integrity in his political adventures.

The Administrator of the Hospital, Rev. Fr. Greg Onah, and the Chairman of the Hospital Board, Rev. Fr. Meletus Ossai, thanked Obi for the visit and for his promise to keep an eye on the affairs of the hospital.

They prayed for God’s continued blessings on Obi for the choice to use his wealth to add value to society rather than in ostentatious living.

Obi was later taken around the hospital premises by the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka and the other management teams of the hospital.
