Ogun LG Election: APC Clears 20 seats Of Chairmanship Positions

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has been declared winner of the chairmanship positions in the 20 local government areas of Ogun State in Saturday’s local government election by the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission.

Chairman of the Commission, Babatunde Osibodu, who announced the final results this Sunday urged the winners to be magnanimous in victory and the losers to put in more efforts in subsequent elections.

The election which was contested by 12 political parties saw the APC clinching the chairmanship positions in the 20 local government areas while the councillorship election results according to the state electoral commission will be announced later. The Chairman also disclosed that the entire data of the election will be released soon.

The Forum of State Independent Electoral Commission of Nigeria in an interview with reporters shortly after the announcement of the results said the council election was a success. They advocated more sensitization of voters on the importance of voting in local government elections.

Three months ago, the journey to produce the political leaders at the grassroots for the people of Ogun State started, and today, the tasks have been successfully accomplished.
