No Incident Forms In 2019 Elections – INEC

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, says “there shall be no room for incident forms in the 2019 general elections. 

Professor Yakubu said this during a meeting which held in Abuja between the Nigeria electoral umpire and national chairmen and secretaries of the 91 political parties in Nigeria. 

The Commission also presented the register of voters for the 2019 general elections to the various political parties. 

With less than 39 days to February 16, 2019, presidential election in Nigeria, INEC said it has completed nine out of the 14 activities lined up for the conduct of credible elections in the 2019 general elections. 

With the presentation of the voters register to the leadership of political parties. 

Yakubu, a Professor of history, took out time to outline some key steps taken by the commission, which include the functionality of the card reader, and the abolishment of incident forms during the elections, clearing the dust raised by some opposition political parties a few days ago. 

Professor Yakubu also assured the political parties that no Nigerian will be disenfranchised on election day. 

INEC also hinted that it has made available the finalised guidelines for the 2019 general elections to all political parties.
