Sallah ceremonies and festivities for the forthcoming Eid-El-Fitr have been banned by the Niger State Government.

This was made known in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Ahmad Matane, hinting that the measure is part of efforts the state government is making to curtail the activities of criminal elements.

The statement further called on the public to comply with the directive as the government will deal with any person or group of persons who flaunt the order.

It assured the people of the state to use the Sallah celebration period to pray for the state and the country.
