NCC directs telcos to shutdown in zamfara

The Nigerian Communications Commission has, yesterday directed all Telecommunications operators to shutdown in Zamfara state as well as neigbouring states that may provide the said services for residents following the spate of insecurity recently witnessed in the state.

The directives is to help security agents carry out some urgent security exercises. The shutdown is expected to last for two weeks and is set to begin on the 3rd of September.

It is unclear what plans have been made as substitutes for residents to communicate, however, here is a sample of the directives addressed to Globacom
